Developing and maintaining a positive mental attitude requires determining and controlling your thoughts. Have you ever been in a situation in which everything about your product and the sales process seemed so right: product quality, prices, presentation, potential customers, and yet the sale did not go through? In the world of sales, your attitude will determine whether customers buy from you or not. With a positive attitude, it is not possible for a salesperson to expect failure, let alone to accept it.<\/strong> Interestingly, sales representatives with a positive attitude always expect the best to happen and consistently win sales. <\/p>\n

Confidence in your sales abilities will take you a long way in sales success. Believe in the power of positive thinking to achieve success in sales. Even if it is not the only ingredient for closing deals, it is definitely an essential factor<\/strong>. Regardless of the type of business, the first thing to do is to sell yourself successfully. If you do not have confidence in your ability to sell, not even customers will give you an opportunity. For this reason you have to fix your way of thinking. James Allen<\/strong>, in the book “As a Man Thinketh”<\/strong>, wrote “All that a man achieves and all that he fails to achieve is the direct result of his own thoughts.”<\/strong><\/p>\n

Achieve great success in sales, thanks to positive thinking <\/h2>\n

A new sales agent was having difficulty getting customers. The sales manager decided that the best way to increase his confidence was to let him negotiate with an easy customer who always renewed his contract. The manager reviewed the plan with the agent and gave him the customer’s details. <\/p>\n

The sales agent met the customer and, although he was a little surprised by the amount of sales he had to make, he obtained the customer’s signature for a large new order. Back at the office again, the agent went to his boss to tell him that he had completed the deal as agreed. But when he arrived at the office, the manager said to him: “I’m glad to see you! I gave you the wrong address. I sent you to our most difficult customer.<\/strong> No one has ever been able to reach an agreement with him! Don’t go.<\/strong>“<\/p>\n

Moral: in life you get what you expect to get.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Think about it… did the agent know he was visiting a difficult customer? And if he had known? Would his confidence have been so high? What made the difference in the young salesperson’s mind? His expectations dictated exactly what he received. Going in with the confident attitude that he was going to close the sale, he showed it in his body language, in his behaviour and with his confidence. In life we get not what we deserve, but what we expect.<\/strong><\/p>\n

4 practical tips for achieving a positive mindset <\/h2>\n

Over the years, research has shown that what we believe and think constantly all day long can determine our success. Whether it is sales or something else. When you visualise a deal as closed, you are more likely to enter a state of mind that will make the sale happen. Thoughts are very powerful.<\/strong> Whether we believe it or not, they influence our attitude towards potential customers and customers. An excellent product with the right attitude will earn you an extra mile compared to your competitors. In reality, sales start with you, not with your customers. <\/strong><\/p>\n

1) Control the mind:<\/h3>\n

Over the centuries thousands of quotes and poems have been written on some aspects of positive thinking. Whether it is Lord Byron on love<\/strong> or Shakespeare<\/strong> with words of wisdom such as The World Is Your Oyster<\/strong>… people have used different forms of mind control. If your thoughts are negative, one of the keys to controlling your mind is simply to read a positive quote, an affirmation, a book or to talk to positive people and stop your mind from thinking negatively. <\/p>\n

Everything is possible and all you have to do is choose. Nelson Mandela<\/strong> once said: “Your playing small does not serve the world.”<\/strong> What does it mean? It means that you do not have to live being unhappy and below your potential. You are meant to live a fantastic life!<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n

We all know people who are positive, optimistic, who can laugh and see the glass half full and not half empty. They are determined to succeed and generally they do. Your goal in life is to create yourself and your life to the heights that you desire. <\/p>\n

3) Be solution-focused:<\/h3>\n

To change a negative attitude, do a 180-degree turn and start focusing your thoughts on solutions. The longer you think about the problem, the more time will pass before you discover your solutions. You can have only one thought at a time, so it is important for your success to make a choice and make it positive. Everything starts with you: you have to believe that you are worthy of achieving success, and you have to maintain a positive mental attitude on your journey. The world is waiting for the best of you; start now!<\/strong> <\/strong> <\/p>\n

4) Educate yourself:<\/h3>\n

Two famous quotes by Albert Einstein: “<\/em>No problem can be solved from the same level of consciousness that created it.<\/em>“<\/em><\/strong> “<\/em>Insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results.<\/em>” <\/em><\/strong>Your past has created who you are today. The key now to your future success is to release your past and move on to your future, and this means bringing your level of personal development to the next level. The goal in your life is to create yourself.
